Feeda-sythia and another Blog Prize added

I never met my father-in-law, Verling "Pete" Troldahl, but I have been blessed by hearing many stories about him from Oscar. One of my favorites gets told every year about this time.
He was of Norwegian extraction. In Norwegian, "four" is "feeda', so (as Oscar's gift for punning is genetic) it was natural that those lovely yellow blossoms on bare branches were called "feedasythias" in the Troldahl household, and still are in this Troldahl household, too. When we took our 'walk' today, the Feedasythia were in full bloom just around the corner.

I have another prize to add to the blog contest, so keep those comments coming! Remember, you get one draw per day, TWO per day if you comment on something you like or don't like about Otterwise.com! Be sure to indicate which prize you'd most like to win, and leave your email.
Today's prize addition is a beauty. TWO 260-yard skeins of 100% SWTC Oasis Soysilk yarn custom-dyed (for Jimmy Beans Wool) by Cherry Tree Hill in the color "Deep Blue Sea".
It is a dk weight ribbon yarn with a tubular chained construction in colors of soft blue, quiet green and taupe. Perfect for a knitted summer tank or shawl, I think.

So, so far the prizes consist of:
5 pattern PDFs of your choice from Otterwise.com
Barenaked Ladies' brand new Cd "All In Good Time"
Lake Desk Monster and
2 skeins of hand painted soysilk yarn.

More to come tomorrow!

Happy Blogaversary :) If I had to narrow down what I've enjoyed about your blog, it would be the uniqueness of character. You're not just showing what's on your needles, but you share some of who you are. Knowing the person behind the yarn is an inspiration to me, and it's made me think maybe I can do that too.

Have you noticed how the "feedasythia"'s sneak up on you? One day the bushes below the balcony were bunches of sticks. Then the next day - BAMM!! full bloom yellow!

Hey! Thanks for posting at the KP forum @Rav. :-) I'll throw my hat in the ring.

I want that yarn! It would be cool if a few blog posts were on your website, some of your favorites or ones that really speak to your work, for folks to get to know you more. People love hearing others' stories.

Email is leanna.lesmeister@gmail. :-)

We had a friend whose daughter's name was Cynthia. In their house, the flowers were called Forcynthia. :)

Can I enter for something different? I'd like to take a try at the yarn. Also, I'd love it if you did something with the background of Otterwise. I think maybe you could use one of your fabulous nature pics?

I think what I love most about your blog is the fact that you keep going despite your illness; you post beauty and creativity and don't give up. That's what I love.

I'd love a chance for 5 pdf patterns, too!
