New Movie: 'The Flu That Wouldn't Die!'

I feel like I've spent the past month starring in a disaster movie titled 'The Flu That Wouldn't Die!'
About 4 weeks ago I got a bit sniffly, a lot achy, and feverish, but got over it (I thought) in two days. the third day the aches came back, plus a tiny cough and major intestinal woes. Two days later felt better, but not 100%. the next day, sniffly, achey, chills and fever, little more cough, chest hurting a bit, minor nausea... and so forth. This week all the symptoms showed up at the same time, my temp ranged from 95.7 to 98.9 within the same day, and I only felt better for about 12 hours. The cough was too big to ignore. It is a 'non-productive' cough which rings my warning bells. (Because of my lack of spleen, my immune system is all freaky weird, and bronchitis turns into pneumonia with little provocation). So at the wish of my beloved Oscar, I called the doc. Her nurse is supposed to call back when she gets time. As Washtenaw County is in the throes of H1N1 Party Central, it will likely take her a few days to get back to me.
In the meantime, I will make my medicine soup, and some Ricola tea (strong black tea with 4-5 Ricola herbal cough drops dissolved into it.) It always helps my chest loosen up and feel better.
I also take more naps.
If this is H1N1, it is not attacking too badly, but I am not ignoring it and will follow doctor's orders, when they come.

Oscar has also been feeling under the weather, but has kept plugging along. I keep track of his temp, and he did come home early one day and slept in for a long time the next, and it seemed to help.

P.S. Doc says come see her Friday morning.

Oh my. No spleen means no immunity to the -coccus germs, pneumococcus, strep, staph, etc. Take care of yourself!
