Three Twined Mice

Every few months I try and use up my TINY bits of saved yarn. I mean mostly pieces less than two yards long. Yes, I was raised frugally, and some things stick.
Often I end up making cat toys from them. I used to be so frugal that I saved the scraps of wool cut off ends, to use for felting projects, and to stuff cat toys with, but used the last of my cut off ends in this project and don't plan to save any more.
These mice are loosely adapted from a pattern that used to be available on About.com, written by Jo Chandler. I adapted it to use up my scraps, and I decided against the bobble eyes. My cats couldn't care less, they are much more interested in the valerian powder I sprinkled the stuffing with. To humans it smells like old feet, but cats LOVE that smell, to the extent of sticking their heads inside my sneakers. I also added a looong white tail on one mouse, for Buddha, who loves white mice, and loves valerian more than the other cats. As you can see by the photo, she's also a major nip head... Ah to be a cat, where all drugs are legal, and someone cleans up after you.

How charming they are! I know you could market those silly little things, but you probably don't want to do it... but cats everywhere would thank you! What lucky cats you have, and it looks like they know it.

Hugs, Ysabeau

Hi, I'm here via colorjoy, just this past week. I love these mice! My kitty would love me to knit some, do you share your pattern? But mostly, I'm curious about Valerian powder. Never heard of it! Where would a kitty get this?

The tail looks like an arthritic's nightmare, but I don't care coz they are CUTE. Hurry up and post those directions, sweetie! We love you!
