Knitters on the Road

A bit of backstory:
On one of my favorite Ravelry groups, Wool-Aid there is a discussion thread called Knitters on the Road for those who are, or who dream about living at least part time travelling in an RV. Rav pal Kathb mentioned whenever she saw that title, the song "Riders on the Storm" came to mind, which sparked me to write the following 'filk' song, sung, of course to the tune of Riders on the Storm (song at bottom of this post)

Knitters on the Road
Knitters on the Road
Into our stash we’ve torn
A new project is born
In a skein or on a cone
Or wrapped around a stone
Knitters on the Road

Life is harsh out on the road
There’s so little room to load
Knit a little every day
There’s less yarn with which to play
Tried to strap it on outside
It gets tangled while we ride
Knitters on the road, yeah

Girl ya gotta love your man
Girl ya gotta love your man
If a yarn shop stop you plan
Better ask him if you can
Oh the work it never ends
Gotta weave in all your ends
Gotta love your man, yeah

Oh, I have to join that group. It's a fantasy of mine too -- but I'm not brave enough to do it!

I love it! And boy is that the acid electric koolaid bus (or whatever the name of Ken Kesey's was. His bus is I think still in Santa Cruz, an hour south.)
