Today's Plan

Today I am going to take a vacation from the computer. I have been working on Yule gifts for the nieces and nephs, (and grand niece and grand neph) and knitting a bit for myself, and realized my low-level dis-satisfaction this morning has something to do with not crafting for my favorite charity for quite some time. (Wool-Aid).
I have some warm yarn and a pattern called Minnesota Mittens (photo by the designer above... don't they look warm?!)  and the whole day stretching before me.
I think I will take today to see if I can complete a pair of mittens. (Mine will be made with more than one color, the monthly challenge on the Ravelry Wool-Aid forum is using up scrap yarn). Crafting for Wool-aid provides me with a wonderful sense of purpose. I could use some of that.
Having made several mittens before, I think this will be an appropriate level of non-challenge for my still-foggy brain. My flu symptoms are lessened today, I am left with just a slight fever and a bit of a scratchy throat. Tomorrow I will be back in the writing game whether it be the fiction story (I really do like the characters that showed up in my mind) or getting some reviews knocked off for the eight books I finished reading in the past ten days. Writing does provide a sense of purpose, but not as great as providing warmth for children in precarious circumstances. So. See you after my mini-vacation!
