Patience

It now looks as though the money from SSD may not arrive until November.
Patience has never been my strong suit, but I am better at it than I used to be.
It is wonderful that the money is coming, but the waiting can get a bit wearing. I was led to believe I would have the lump sum by now, and the first regular payment by September 12th. Adding another six to eight weeks onto that is a bit nerve-wracking. Dreaming about what we can do with the money only helps so much. To help me cope, I've decided to look up some quotes on patience to ponder.

It is strange that the years teach us patience; that the shorter our time, the greater our capacity for waiting.
Elizabeth Taylor

Patience is the companion of wisdom.
Saint Augustine

Even a happy life cannot be without a measure of darkness, and the word happy would lose its meaning if it were not balanced by sadness. It is far better take things as they come along with patience and equanimity.
Carl Jung

Patience, n. A minor form of dispair, disguised as a virtue.
Ambrose Bierce

Patience is necessary, and one cannot reap immediately where one has sown.
Soren Kierkegaard

Find patience in the breath of life.
Ryunosuke Satoro

Patience is the ability to idle your motor when you feel like stripping your gears.
Barbara Johnson

If you have confidence you have patience. Confidence, that is everything.
Ilie Nastase

There are three secrets to managing. The first secret is have patience. The second is be patient. And the third most important secret is patience.
Chuck Tanner

Good post. As my kids will tell you, patience is definitely not one of my strong suits.

Which reminds me of the very impatient fellow who prays to God, "Dear Lord, please give me patience, and give it to me RIGHT NOW!
